Brian C. Willis, M.D.

Brian Willis, MD is a native of northern California but has been residing in the southeast since completing his AP/CP residency at Emory University in Atlanta, GA which he followed with fellowships in gynecologic pathology at University of Virginia and dermatopathology at Emory University. He is a graduate of Loma University School of Medicine. He is currently a staff pathologist at Pathology Associates of Lexington in West Columbia, SC. His interests include bone and soft tissue pathology, ovarian sex-cord stromal tumors, and inflammatory and melanocytic dermatopathology. Outside of work he enjoys watching (and funding) his son’s go-kart racing career. Â

David N. B. Lewin, MD
Director Gastrointestinal Pathology
Dr. David Lewin is a nationally recognized anatomic and clinical pathologist with subspecialty interest in gastrointestinal (including esophageal), liver and pancreatic pathology. His clinical responsibilities include analysis of gastrointestinal, liver, pancreatic and pulmonary pathology tissue biopsies and surgical resections. Dr. Lewin is the director of gastrointestinal and hepatic pathology. He participates in the thoracic, gastrointestinal and liver multidisciplinary tumor boards. He actively participates in pulmonary and gastrointestinal clinical trials.Dr. Lewin has a number of administrative roles both at MUSC and with national societies. He is the past president of the Gastrointestinal Pathology Society and is on the board of directors of the American Society of Clinical Pathology. He is one of the vice-chairs of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at MUSC. He serves on a numerous committees including the chair of the Institutional Review Board 3 (IRB 3) and the promotion and tenure committee for the university.

Secretary
Kristen Adams, MD
Kristen Adams, MD attended medical school and completed her pathology AP/CP residency at the University of Mississippi. She completed a Surgical Pathology Fellowship with a focus in placental and perinatal pathology there as well . She previously served on staff at the University of Mississippi as Pathology Course Director for the medical school and was Co-Chair of the Mississippi Child Death Review Panel.  She joined Pathology Consultants in July of 2020 and has been with the group since that time. Her special interests include placental pathology, gynecologic tumors, and medical liver disease. She is the Medical Laboratory Director for Prisma Baptist Hospital in Columbia and Director of Microbiology at Prisma Richland Hospital. Outside of work she enjoys skiing and hiking.
